Name: Dick Foxx
Hometown: Elkton, Maryland
Growing up in the western Finger Lakes region on Seneca Lake, puddle ducks were Dick’s prominent passion. There were a few geese at the time, as most of the fields were not conducive to attracting big birds. In the 70’s a lot of the local fields we expanded and this attracted the geese which allowed Dick to develop into a well-rounded waterfowler.
In Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Dick has guided people on-and-off since the early 90’s as one of the principles of R&R Waterfowling. He feels equally at home on land or water and brings a wealth of experience to our outfit.
During the mid-90’s until 2002 he ran Seneca Lake Retrievers, training and trialing Chesapeakes, Golden Retrievers and Labs. Seneca Lake Retrievers is still around but with two young boys, his focus is not on training or trialing these days.
Blowing calls for hunting and putting birds in the bag, he has evolved from flutes to short reeds for geese and loves the acrylic calls for ducks. He is a member of the Calef Calls Pro Staff Team as well as a pro staffer for one of our sponsors, Heavy Hauler Outdoor Gear. |
